Geoff distributed the agenda which was reviewed and approved unanimously.
The treasury report had been $5,685.97 with 2 distributions. One expense was for $100.00 to the GHS All night party and the other was for $22.00 for the Post office box for GPNA. The new balance is now $5,563.97.
Cori went over some of the issues regarding the Clean Up. The date is May 14th from 9 am until 1 pm. The date is set and the haulers are coming. There will also be a truck from the Vets for charitable donations. Gregg also mentioned that the scrap metal hauler will also be there with a bigger truck(s) this year. He might also be willing to pick up larger items after the Clean up at homes. Cori would like to reimbursement from NECN to improve. We'll work on this after the Clean Up.
Upcoming elections and board positions were discussed. Geoff has officially resigned from both the presidency and the treasurer after the May general meeting. No one stepped forward to assume the either role of a president or treasurer. Ron Laster will resume the VP position and will assume the open positions until a replacement steps forward. These positions will be open and available at the next general meeting in May. Discussion was brought forth as to the possibility of reducing the total board members to 4 instead of 5. Nothing was motioned or voted on.
Newsletter timeline, articles, printing and delivery dates were set.
board membership changes, increases, quorums were tabled. Information about NECN workshops and how to increase participation were also tabled at this time. Geoff will send emails out to board members re: these items.
Ron made a motion to consider donating some amount of money to the Friends of Grant Park athletics (FGPA). He expressed his concern that the public might feel that by the GPNA not openly supporting the project it looks bad. If a donation were decided upon it would be one way to clearly show the GPNA "good will" within the neighborhood. Discussion continued but no resolution was decided. It was again brought up that the GPNA board needs to establish some guidelines for donation requests or an annual giving budget. Maybe this can be decided at the June board meeting?
The idea of a GPNA kiosk in Grant Park was also voiced. As a "good will" donation to the neighborhood.
Meeting adjourned at 8:55pm
